Strategic Alliance Between EFA GROUP & Wayren

Joining Forces for the Development of Next-Generation Digital Battlefield Solutions

The defense group of companies EFA GROUP has signed an investment agreement worth up to €7.9 million with the Estonian startup Wayren. This investment serves the group’s broader strategic plan to develop a new generation of high-tech digital battlefield solutions that will integrate soldier communication systems, drones, vehicles, and weapon systems into a single platform for tactical situation awareness.

SCYTALYS, a member of EFA GROUP, offers advanced, modular, and interoperable Command and Control Systems (MIMS), designed to address challenges in the modern and complex theater of operations.

Wayren, a company specializing in resilient communications, has created a robust MESH communication hub to connect soldiers, vehicles, command centers, and other platforms under demanding battlefield conditions.

“The product solutions of SCYTALYS and Wayren, combined, create a force multiplier for the modern battlefield that facilitates communication flow between echelons, thereby enhancing timely and accurate battlefield awareness. This collaboration sets a new benchmark for the interoperability and flexibility that our systems provide in joint operations,” added George Menexis, CEO of SCYTALYS.

“With this partnership, we plan to integrate our technology into the EFA GROUP portfolio, offering a comprehensive digital battlefield suite. Wayren’s solution aims to achieve complete interconnection between soldier equipment and available field assets, creating a unified digital command and control infrastructure,” explained Henry Härm, CEO and co-founder of Wayren.
